Some History: The Falls Teahouse (originally known as Glengariffe) is very much a part of the Millaa Millaa community and was originally built by a local builder for a well-known local family in around 1930. This family lived in the home for over 60 years until 1992 when it was sold to another local family who later commenced trading as The Falls Teahouse on 9th March 1998. A self-contained unit was added to the highway side the farmhouse in 2001 to allow for the operation of the three room bed and breakfast on the dairy farm side of the building. In March 2008 a new couple bought the Teahouse and add a wood fired pizza oven and licenced bar.

The current owners have added a new food storeroom which includes a cold room, an 84 panel 20kw solar system, upgraded to three phase power for commercial use, added a wood burning fireplace to the managers residence, refurbished all of the bathrooms, refurnished the B&B rooms, upgraded the plumbing, new kitchen floors, new bathroom tiles, a new shed roof, replaced and added windows and screens, added to and upgraded all electrical including a new fire alarm system and carpark lighting.

The business has a number of facets:
The Cafe: The café operates every day except Thursday (which could be changed if the new owner so desired). Weekdays the operating hours are 10am to 4pm and on weekends 9.30am till at 4pm. The café offers home style cooking with almost all menu items made in house including bread, relishes, jams, cakes, pies and scones.
Woodfired Pizza: Wood fired pizza offered on Friday nights from 6pm. This is a family oriented fun night and it attracts Tableland locals from near and far.
Bed & Breakfast: There are three rooms - The King Room offers a king size bed, The Twin Room offers two single beds and these rooms share a claw foot bathroom and separate toilet. There is also a Queen Room which offers a queen size bed with en-suite shower and toilet. There is a cosy lounge area with a television and tea/coffee facilities including a small fridge.
Room Hire: The middle room of the B&B is hired to a local masseur every Tuesday.
Tour Groups: A local tour operator offers a waterfall and rainforest one day tour from Cairns and stops at the Teahouse for lunch every day. This tour has been operating and coming to the Teahouse for many years commencing with the original owner of the Teahouse. There are other tour operators that also visit the Teahouse on a semi-regular or adhoc basis.
Functions: The Falls Teahouse provides functions for up to 50 guests - Christmas functions, Pizza Party, Birthday Party, Reunions, Corporate Meetings, Hens Party and Graduation Dinners.

The Falls Teahouse has a new modern interactive website which includes photos, menus and an automated booking function which can be easily upgraded to include a payment function if desired. There is an active Facebook page with a 4.7/5 star review rating, Instagram page, Trip Adviser review rating of 4.5/5 stars, a Google business rating of 4.5/5 and of course is rated No.1 cafe in Millaa Millaa.
